Are you ready to make some birdies, eagles, smiles & laughs with your friends & family this year at Hunley? The Hunley Junior Academy was launched in 2015 to help introduce as many youngsters as possible into Golf & create a fun, flexible & family friendly junior program. The highly experienced Junior Coaching team strive to give all the Juniors the skills and confidence to learn, improve and enjoy their golf.

Junior Golf at Hunley Hotel & Golf Club is all about having lots of fun, enjoying the sport, and being the best that you can be! We place a great emphasis on juniors and supporting them in every way we can; from complete beginners who have never played before, through into club membership where there is a chance to get involved in our many competitions!

why play golf?
Golf can make a positive contribution to the development of young children for a number of wider educational reasons. Through Tri-Golf (plastic clubs & foam balls), specifically designed for juniors, it: – Places a strong emphasis on life skills such as honesty, respect, cooperation and leadership. – Supports juniors to achieve their personal best and encourages them to develop an understanding of right and wrong.

Keeping fit & Happy
Golf places a strong emphasis on standards and good behaviour. It does not necessarily require athletic ability and can, therefore, be used to engage with semi-sporty or non-sporty children. It enables children of mixed abilities to easily participate together. It provides a good introduction to hitting and striking as neither the participant nor the ball are moving.

We strive to give all our students the skills and confidence to improve and enjoy their golf. So whether you are a beginner or an experienced golfer, the team at Hunley will help you love your golf.
Johnny Norton
golf professional
Johnny is originally from Belfast, Northern Ireland and golf has always been a real passion of his from the age of 14. After playing for several years, Johnny decided golf was the career path he wanted to go down and attended the International Institute for Golf Education where he graduated with a BsC Honours in Golf Coaching and Performance. Upon graduation Johnny initially worked at Blackwood Golf Club to gain some experience before taking a role at the famous Abu Dhabi National Golf Club which included working during the European Tour's HSBC Championship. As a golfer, Johnny's current handicap is +2 and he's the current holder of the Ulster U21 match play. As a Teaching Professional, Johnny oversees all the coaching at Hunley, including the Junior Section.
