Dear All
Firstly let me start by congratulating Michael Hay on another fantastic victory in this year’s Club Championships. With two very consistent rounds & a further reduction in handicap, it’s clear Mike is still improving at an alarmingly good rate. Best of luck for the rest of the season Mike!
At the end of this week it will be time to say goodbye to Alex who has served so so well over the last couple of years. He’ll be sorely missed & I’m sure I speak on behalf of all the members when I say we wish him well in his next career step with American Golf.
So where does that leave us I hear you saying? Well, I’m pleased to announce that Johnny is going to step up & hold the reins on an interim basis until the end of the season. Once we get to the end of November & past presentation night etc, we can sit down with Johnny & decide if long term this is going to be a role suitable for him, depending on how he’s found it.
We all know what a fantastic job Johnny’s done with the junior golfers here at Hunley & I’ve let him know that we don’t want to lose that aspect of his work so Johnny will continue in his ‘Pied Piper’ role also, inspiring the future golfers of tomorrow. On a side note, I know Johnny has some fantastic ideas & plans for the membership section at Hunley which I’ll let him reveal to you all in the near future 😉
Finally, there is no way Johnny will be able to manage this alone so we’ll make sure he has plenty of support. He knows I’m there to lend a hand whenever he needs me to and also I’m pleased to announce former Junior Captain, Elliot Duck is going to assist Johnny with covering Pro Shop hours until the end of the season. Together with Luke, Elliot will help with the day to day operations on the golf side & also assist Johnny with any help needed.
I’m sure you’ll offer the 3 of them all of your support & we’ll see the end of the season out positively.
As ever, any questions then please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Regards, Richard
