Are you practicing correctly?
Time after time I hear golfers say that they have been hitting it great on the range, but struggle when they get onto the golf course. There are a number of reasons why this happens.
Swing Faults:
We all have our swing faults, some more than others. What happens when you go to the range and race through 100 balls with your driver is after a while you are able to find a compensation that works for your golf swing. You may even find a way to hit the ball nice and solid down the middle.
You then walk off the range under the impression that the next day you are going to have the game of your life. The problem lies when you get on the course you don’t have the opportunity to find that compensation as you are hitting different clubs at different targets each shot.
You will soon fall into your swing faults and the frustration starts.
How do you fix this?
Its actually quite simple, vary your practice routine. When you are on the range, each club you hit should be different. You should also be aiming to a different target at a different yardage each time. What this will do is effectively show you your mistakes and possibly highlight where you are going wrong. If you are still struggling come and see me and I will steer you in the right direction.
