This week saw attentions turn to Abu Dhabi where a star studded lineup meant some wonderful golf would be on show. Thomas Pieters was the early leader after day 2 but after charges from Ross Fisher, Rory McIlroy and Matt Fitzpatrick meant it was all alot closer after day 3.
To highlight how good British golf is right now, at one point on the third day, 8 of the top 10 golfers were from Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
At the close of play on Saturday Eric Pieters and Ross Fisher led the tournament on -17.
Tommy Fleetwood secured the win in Abu Dhabi in fine style with a final score of -21 under par.
This was Rory Mcilroy’s first competitive game in over 3 months and if his start to the year is anything to go by then he is in for a wonderful year and he will contend for those majors once again.

Wondering when to get your clubs re-gripped?
Every golfer overlooks what condition their grips are in & just carries on until they get holes in and start to crumble. The ideal time to get your clubs regripped is winter, all tour pro’s have their grips re-done at least 3-4 times a year.
Obviously, us amateurs don’t need to go that far but we should be re-gripping our clubs at least once a year, I would hazard a guess most people drag their grip for a lot longer than that!
Sweat, dirt, weather conditions and normal wear and tear affect the grips and can also affect how well you play your shots. All of the above can affect the consistency and control you have over your shots. After all your ONLY point of contact with the club is via the grip and is the basis of a sound set up.
With this in mind, we have a bargain stand in the pro shop for grips, with an offer of 2 FREE grips when you buy 8 grips, saving you up to £25!
